This video covers two different areas of functionality available within the application.
Part 1: Sales Order Picking using Units of Measure
Part 2: The Datalinx Tote Tracking Module
Sales Order Picking using Units of Measure:
Datalinx provides the ability to record and recognise the number of products within a full box by being able to map Sage packing units to outer box barcodes. Warehouse manager can then use the quantity from the Sage mapping to manage sales order picking of both full boxes and individuals. This can significanty speed up the pick.
The demonstration part of the session will show how products are picked by scanning a barcode that represents a full box quantity, and how this quantity is automatically deducted from the overal pick quanitty. Individual products can then be picked using UPC or standard product barcodes. This is demonstrated in a live environment using "incremental" picking followed by a review of the setup within Sage X3 detailing how it works.
The Datalinx Tote Tracking Module:
Some industries need to ship certain types of products to their customers in specific containers or "totes". These totes may be required to be returned and recycled for re-use. Costs are often incurred when totes go missing, and so tracking the whereabouts of each tote is therefore important to a businesses P&L.
The Datalinx Tote Tracking module enables totes to be assigned at sales order pick time and then booked back into the business when they are treturned. The live demonstration of this Datalinx module includes an overview of the setup, a sales order pick with tote assignment, followed by the tote return process. All of which will be completed through the handheld. This is then reviewed in Sage, where the location and whereabouts of each tote will be traced.
This is an add-on module for Sage versions 9 and upwards.
